Specific trends in phosphate glass crystallization

Abstract This paper focusses on investigating and comparing the congruent crystallization of phosphate glasses with different degrees polymerization. The study was performed both powders, size fractions, coarse particles which can be assimilated to bulk. From DSC experiments, corroborated by SEM analysis, it demonstrated that LiPO3 crystallizes from surface whereas LiGe2(PO4)3 in whole volume. Sn2P2O7 presented phenomena, nucleation time lag being short enough observe internal at laboratory scale. Using non-isothermal Ozawa method, kinetic parameters overall devitrification process were determined terms Avrami exponent activation energy for crystallization. temperature maximum rate calculated using adiabatic theory. For achievement this calculation, heat capacity dependence up melting experiments. results found a good agreement observation study.
